The Elora Singers Current Maiden, Mystics, Myths and Recollections

The Elora Singers will wrap up their 2023-24 season with a live performance titled Maiden, Mystics, Myths and Recollections on Might 5. The live performance will options each The Elora Singers and Elora Vocal Academy Members.

This system will embrace works from a number of composers from The Elora Singers repertoire, together with Arvo Pärt, Reena Esmail, Ēriks Ešenvalds and Eric Whitacre.

We evoke myths and reminiscences in music by James MacMillan, Benjamin Britten, Ešenvalds, Lauridsen and Eric Whitacre. Attractive choral music to finish our week with our vocal academy members who will add their voices to the Elora Singers.”

The Elora Singers Vocal Academy

From April 29 to Might 5, members of the Vocal Academy endure six days of intensive coaching with Mark Vuorinen, Creative Director of The Elora Singers, Benjamin Butterfield, tenor, Anna Ronai, collaborative pianist and coach, together with members of The Elora Singers.

Vocal Academy members are: sopranos Anastasia Pogorelova and Alexandra Teske; mezzo sopranos Grace Ronan and Joanna Loepp Thiessen; tenors Joseph Adams and Morgan Ballantyne; basses Drew Aarssen and Benjamin Wallace.

  • Soprano Anastasia Pogorelova holds a Grasp’s diploma in voice and opera from the Gnessin State Musical School in Russia, and previous to that, studied music on the G. Vishnevskaya School of Music, aka КМТИ №61.
  • Soprano Alexandra Teske is a local of Rosemont, Ontario, who started learning music as a toddler. She earned a BMus (Hons) in piano, and BEd on the College of Western Ontario, and went on to obtain First Class Honours on her ARCT vocal performer’s examination.
  • Mezzo-soprano Grace Ronan earned a Bachelor’s of Music in Voice Efficiency from Wilfrid Laurier College in 2023, and not too long ago carried out at her commencement recital.
  • Mezzo-soprano Joanna Loepp Thiessen studied music at Wilfrid Laurier College and Canadian Mennonite College, graduating with Bachelor of Music, Vocal Efficiency in 2022, and serves because the Music & Arts Coordinator for Bethel Mennonite Church.
  • Tenor Joseph Adams earned a Grasp’s of Music diploma from the College of Western Ontario, and is understood for his excessive vary and coloratura method. He has carried out quite a lot of roles, and works as a performer and vocal instructor.
